GOOD LUCK TO ALL THE JUNIORS INVOLVED IN THE STATE TITLES THIS WEEKEND WHETHER YOU ARE COMPETING, OFFICIATING, AGE GROUP MANAGING, HELPING OR SPECTATING MASTERS STATE TITLES LAST WEEKEND – REPORT FROM OUR MAN ON THESPOT - OLLY A short report on the weekend's Masters extravaganza. Didn't finish until 6pm on Sunday and Howsey and I were the last ones in the water in the 55 - 59 double ski event (we got third too!) Thanks to all of the club Masters who competed in trying conditions over the weekend at Moana. Won't be able to provide all the results but highlights of the weekend included: - Ray Martin Snr 2nd in the 1km run against 70 yr olds - not bad when you consider his age is 81! He got a bag of other results as well. - Congo Ferret's success again in numerous water events, including a silver in the 240 boats. - Fantastic commitment of our small group of ladies, who cleaned up a swag of medals. They included Mandy Bedford's 10 medals (and four 4ths!), Mary Carr and Erika 'Broken Toe' Oemcke - who all competed in almost every event going. - Howsey's gold medal in the 60 - 64yo 1 km run on a full stomach of breakfast! - Simon Linden and Ian Price's blitzing form in the 55 - 59 yr double ski win. - Great results from the boaties with the 160 Women's crew winning gold, the 140, 220 and 240 Men's winning silver and the 180 Men's and 160 Women's also making the final. - Budgie Goldfinch's 6 x 6th placings - he also went in almost every event on the program! Thanks to Emu for providing a great feed on the Sunday night after the event. It'd be great to get more members to come along and give it a go next season. Lots of fun and you keep yourself pretty fit as well. As we always say, we should train more so we don't blow up when we keep on coming South Fourth!! Good luck to the Juniors and Seniors over the next two weekends.
