Important Notice to all Members and visitors to the Club
Due to the ever changing situation with regards to the COVID-19 pandemic, it is with great disappointment that all Club activities and social gatherings, including structured group training of any kind will be postponed until further notice. This includes all areas of the Club - juniors, seniors, boards, boats, Tuesday night pool training, etc.
Planned events will be rescheduled in the future, when it safe to do so.
The upcoming Quiz night is also postponed, along with our Sunday Sessions, depending on the situation as it plays out.
These decisions have not been made lightly. They have been made with the advice of Surf Life Saving Australia/SLS SA, the Government and medical professionals.
It is with the intent of protecting our members and their families, whilst also helping to protect the most vulnerable in our community.
As a volunteer organisation set up to protect the community, we need to be on the front foot by helping stop the spread of this virus.
While some may just have flu-like symptoms from COVID-19, we all have the potential to pass it on to people in high risk categories for who it may have more serious and dire consequences.
We wish to avoid any such incident. Please practice safe distance as directed, as well as good hygiene to minimise these risks.
As a Surf Club, we have always had great support for each other. In these times, please remember to look out for each other, help where we can and remember that we will all be down at the Club again, hopefully soon.
We will update everyone as the situation progresses and will let you know about future events at South Port once we get the green light to proceed.
We will look to gather people together to reflect on a wonderful season, our 60th, once this situation has been resolved.
Please stay safe. See you all again soon.
Richard 'Olly' Olesinski, Club President
